Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has been honoured with the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Outstanding Governor (North East) Award for his leadership and contributions to the development of the state.
The award was presented on Thursday in Abuja as part of activities marking the centenary celebration of Daily Times Nigeria, one of the country’s oldest newspapers.
Governor Kefas was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, Zainab Jalingo, Esq., alongside the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Jeji Williams, mni, who received the award on his behalf.
The ceremony, held at the ThisDay Dome in Abuja’s Central Business District, featured a Centenary Conference, the unveiling of the Nigeria Grand Book, and the Times Heroes Awards, which recognised distinguished Nigerians and institutions for their contributions to national development.
Governor Kefas was among six governors recognised across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, receiving the Outstanding Governor Award for the North East.
Other governors recognised included Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa.
The Taraba Governor was also listed among prominent personalities honoured during the centenary celebration, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and former African Development Bank President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina.
The recognition adds to the growing list of acknowledgements of Governor Kefas’ leadership and development efforts in Taraba State.
