Officials of the Taraba State Government sponsored by Governor Agbu Kefas have completed a specialised Leadership, Administrative and Political Advisers Training Course at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
The training brought together members of the Taraba State House of Assembly, the 16 Local Government Council Chairmen, Permanent Secretaries, officials of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission, members of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, political advisers and other government officials.
The programme focused on leadership, administration and political advisory responsibilities, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of officials to effectively discharge their duties and improve service delivery.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Jeji Williams, commended Governor Agbu Kefas for prioritising the professional development and capacity building of government officials.
He described investment in human capacity as essential to effective governance and expressed appreciation to the participants, directors and facilitators for their commitment throughout the programme.
The participants also thanked Governor Kefas for providing the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and improve their capacity to serve the state.
Dr. Rikwensi Muri, one of the participants, described the training as beneficial, saying the knowledge acquired would contribute to the effective discharge of his responsibilities.
Another participant, Linda Gwana, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the programme and the learning environment, describing the experience as unprecedented.
The officials are expected to return to their respective offices and apply the knowledge acquired to improve administration, coordination, leadership and service delivery across the state.
The training is part of the Taraba State Government’s efforts to strengthen the capacity of public officials and improve the effectiveness of government institutions.
