Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has approved the provision of a permanent site for the Taraba State Association of Gospel Artists, TASAGA.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, High Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps Ngwii, who represented the Governor at the association’s annual concert and 2026 opening ceremony in Gembu, headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Area.
The event brought together gospel artists, church leaders, government officials, political stakeholders and worshippers from across the state.
High Chief Kataps conveyed the Governor’s goodwill to the gathering and explained that Governor Kefas would have loved to attend the ceremony personally but was unavoidably absent due to an international recognition in Liberia for his contributions to peace and security.
The SSG also led the congregation in a song and challenged them to reflect on the question: “The life God gave is free of choice; in return, what have you given God?”
The announcement of the permanent site for TASAGA was warmly received by the congregation, with the Vision Bearer of the association, Bro. Paul Jonah, expressing appreciation to Governor Kefas for his consistent support.
The Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Area, Hon. Muhammad Umar Jiriji, described the annual TASAGA programme as a blessing that continues to strengthen the faith of the people.
Delivering the spiritual message on the theme, “When We Call on the Name of the Lord,” Rev. Olu Bodun E. Davidson urged Christians to move beyond religious activities and embrace genuine worship backed by action.
Drawing lessons from the Bible, the cleric cautioned believers against fighting one another, pulling fellow Christians down and placing churches, pastors or titles above God.
He urged Christians to deepen their prayer lives, increase their knowledge of God and allow the Word of God to take root in their lives.
Rev. Davidson declared that Taraba State would experience greater progress when its people genuinely call upon the name of God.
The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Sardauna Local Government Area, Rev. Isaac Abidoye, urged believers to match their words with action and prayed for the safe return of participants to their various destinations.
The ceremony featured performances by Evangelist Godswill Angulu, Rev. Emmanuel Luka, Evangelist Gladys Juyoh, the Peculiar Choir from Jalingo and other district choirs.
A major highlight of the event was a joint performance by veteran and emerging gospel artists, who sang “I Need You and You Need Me,” symbolising unity and collaboration among gospel artists.
