TARABA GOVERNMENT PLEDGES STRONGER PUSH FOR SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT AT SDIC 2026

The Taraba State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to attracting sustainable investment, with a focus on agriculture, environmental protection, and climate-smart economic growth.
Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps Ngwii, made the pledge on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Global Sustainable Futures Network, GSFN, United Kingdom.

Chief Kataps said the administration of Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas is prioritizing policies that create an enabling environment for investors, particularly in agriculture value chains such as coffee, tea, and oil palm production.
"Our goal is to build an economy that is both productive and sustainable. We are opening Taraba to responsible investors who share our vision for green growth, job creation, and environmental stewardship," Chief Kataps stated.

Leader of the GSFN delegation, Dr. Renuka Thakore, applauded the state’s direction, noting that Taraba has significant potential to lead in climate-smart agriculture and responsible investment in Nigeria.
"Taraba is uniquely positioned with its natural resources and political will. With the right partnerships, the state can become a model for sustainable development in the region," Dr. Thakore said.

The meeting is part of activities leading up to the Sustainable Development and Investment Conference, SDIC 2026, which seeks to strengthen international partnerships and promote green economic development in Taraba.
Organizers say the conference will bring together investors, development partners, and policymakers to explore opportunities in renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation.
With its vast arable land and favorable climate, Taraba is positioning itself as a destination for investors interested in agribusiness and green initiatives aligned with global sustainability goals.
