Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to return to the classroom and earn a university degree after retiring from professional football, describing education as a lifelong aspiration.
Speaking in an interview with Instablog TV, the Nigerian international said that despite achieving success in football, obtaining a degree remains one of his personal goals.
Osimhen noted that while life has taught him valuable lessons beyond the classroom, he believes formal education still holds immense value and hopes to pursue it when his playing career comes to an end.
He explained that the average football career is relatively short, making it important for players to prepare for life after retirement. According to him, education will serve as an additional source of personal growth alongside his investments and other post-football plans.
The 27-year-old also encouraged young people who were forced to suspend their education due to financial or personal challenges not to give up on their dreams. He urged them to remain hopeful, stressing that it is never too late to return to school.
Although Osimhen did not reveal when he intends to begin his studies or the course he plans to pursue, his comments have been widely welcomed by fans, who see his decision as a powerful endorsement of the importance of education.
