The Tiv community in Taraba State has celebrated the State APC Women Leader and member of the State APC Working Committee, Hon. Princess Margaret Mchivga, at a gathering held at Mile Six Cathedral in Jalingo.
The event brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, women, youths, political stakeholders and members of the Tiv community from across the state.
The gathering was marked by messages of unity, appreciation and political inclusion, with speakers describing Princess Margaret Mchivga’s emergence as an important milestone for the Tiv community and a source of encouragement to women and young people interested in politics and public service.
Speaking at the event, Princess Margaret thanked the Tiv community for its support and solidarity, saying her position comes with the responsibility to serve and represent the interests of the people.
She commended the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas for what she described as its commitment to inclusiveness and for creating opportunities for people from different backgrounds to participate in governance and contribute to the development of Taraba State.
The APC Women Leader also called on members of the Tiv community to remain united and increase their participation in the political and developmental affairs of the state.
The State APC Publicity Secretary, Chief Aaron Artimas, who represented the State Chairman, commended Princess Margaret for her commitment to the party and her contributions to the activities of the State Working Committee.
Traditional rulers and community representatives at the event also expressed appreciation for the recognition of members of the Tiv community, while calling for continued peace, unity and cooperation among the different ethnic groups in Taraba State.
As part of the celebration, Princess Margaret presented gifts to members of the community. Traditional leaders and other beneficiaries received fabrics, while women were presented with wrappers.
The event began with prayers for peace, progress and prosperity in Taraba State and ended with expressions of appreciation and solidarity.
For the Tiv community, the gathering provided an opportunity to celebrate one of its own while reaffirming its commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence and constructive participation in the affairs of Taraba State.
