The Kambu Cultural Development Association has been commended for its commitment to preserving the culture, language and unity of the Kambu people.
The commendation was made by Hon. Bashiru Bakari Jatau, who is aspiring to represent Nguroje Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly under the Accord Party, during a visit to the association's monthly meeting held at the Kambu Community Family House in Magami, Jalingo.
Hon. Bashiru Bakari Jatau praised members of the community for their commitment to preserving their cultural values and promoting peaceful coexistence.
He stressed the importance of unity among the Kambu people and encouraged members of the community to participate actively in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of the Kambu Cultural Development Association, Mr. Richard Genesis Nfor, commended the elders, women and youths for their contributions to the growth and progress of the association.
He also acknowledged the efforts of teachers who have taken it upon themselves to train children in the Kambu language, describing the initiative as important to preserving the community's cultural heritage for future generations.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional leaders, Pa. Ta Nformi Christopher Tanko appreciated the leadership of the association for its efforts towards promoting unity and cultural values among the people.
He also thanked Hon. Bashiru Bakari Jatau for identifying with the Kambu community and supporting its activities.
Another community member, Hon. Oliver Mayuka, commended Hon. Bashiru Bakari Jatau for his decision to seek public office, describing political participation as an opportunity to contribute to the development of Nguroje, Sardauna Local Government Area and Taraba State.
Hon. Mayuka prayed for God's guidance and success for Hon. Bashiru Bakari Jatau in his ambition to represent Nguroje Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly.
Also speaking, Ta Fai Donatus Ndifufi called for peace and understanding among the sons and daughters of Sardauna Local Government Area as the people approach the 2027 elections.
He urged residents to maintain peaceful relationships, respect one another and avoid actions capable of creating division within the community.
The meeting ended with renewed calls for unity, cultural preservation, peaceful coexistence and active participation in community development.
