Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has announced the approval for the revival of the State Sports Festival as part of efforts to strengthen sports development and create more opportunities for young people across the state.
The governor made the announcement on Friday while receiving a delegation from the Nigeria Tennis Federation at the TY Danjuma House in Jalingo. He said the sports festival would serve as a platform to discover and nurture young talents while promoting unity and healthy competition among communities.
Governor Kefas reaffirmed his administration's commitment to investing in sports as a tool for youth empowerment and social development.
Earlier in the day, the governor also hosted members of the National Association of Former Local Government Council Chairmen in Nigeria (NALGON Emeritus), who paid him a courtesy visit at the TY Danjuma House.
During the visit, the National President of the association, Mr. Shaba Ibrahim, conferred on Governor Kefas the title of Grand Patron in recognition of his leadership and contributions to governance and development.
The governor appreciated the honour and reiterated his commitment to policies and programmes aimed at advancing the welfare of the people of Taraba State under his administration's development agenda.
